Currently, Let the Animals Live operates the following programs:
An Emergency Hotline which answers calls from the public regarding distressed animals, as well as gives information over the phone.
Rescue Activities – with a search and rescue ambulance we pick up distressed animals and transfer them to the organization’s clinic for veterinary care and rehabilitation.
Animal Shelter – The shelter regularly houses approximately 300 dogs and cats who receive dedicated care until a warm home is found for them. Our main animal shelter is found in Kfar-Rut across the road from Mo'di'in.
In addition we also operate small shelters and foster homes in other parts of Israel.
Veterinary Clinic Services – These veterinary treatments include many life-savings procedures, including complicated operations and hospitalizations of those who are rescued. We also perform spaying/neutering at reduced costs. The clinic is open to the public and provides low-cost treatments for those who can’t afford private veterinary care.
TNR projects for Feral cats:
Let the Animals Live continuously conducts TNR of feral cats throughout Israel, which is an accepted procedure in western countries and is done in conjunction with international instructions and policies. Despite the advantages, the Israeli government designates a miniscule budget on behalf of spaying and neutering and thus we are in need of additional support for the program.
Legal Department – This department deals with inquiries about matters of animal abuse and maintenance; taking care of farm animals; advancing legislation; operating a legal clinic; and public campaigns.
“From Violence to Compassion” Educational Project – The organization runs educational activities which encourage compassion for animals (in association with the Center for Environmental Protection in the Arab village of Sakhnin.)
