The Brandeis Alumni Video Challenge is underway -- may the best video win (as long as it's mine, of course)! Click here to see our video "The Brandeis Song" that we worked so hard on. It's pretty funny and you may learn a thing or two, too!

We hope the video reminds you of your days as a Brandeis student. If you want to see more videos, click at the top of the page we sent you as a link. They're all great!

The Alumni Video Challenge is a fun project that comes with a serious message: Today's Brandeis students need our help. In addition to checking out the videos, we hope you make a gift in support of scholarships (please designate that my video prompted your donation). Thanks to the Krupp Scholarship Challenge, George and Lizbeth Krupp will contribute $1 for every $2 raised for scholarships, so a gift of $100 will provide $150 worth of financial aid.

The key to the success of this campaign is the viral component. By pressing "Tell Your Friends," you can personalize an email to send to people you know (classmates, family, friends, etc.) and invite them to view the videos as well. You can also share the videos through Facebook, Twitter, and other social media. Your help is crucial to the success of this project, so the more people you invite, the greater your impact will be.

About the Brandeis Alumni Video Challenge

Alumni and friends are invited to view, share, and comment on the submissions to the Alumni Video Challenge.

Winning entries will be selected in three categories:

-- Best overall video (selected by alumni in the entertainment/marketing world)
-- Most popular (based on views)
-- Best fundraisers (based on money raised and number of donors)

Help Students

The Brandeis Alumni Video Challenge is seeking to raise $30,000 in scholarships for today's Brandeis students.

After watching the videos, don't forget to help Brandeis students. You can do so in two ways:

-- Click on "Tell Your Friends" to invite old Brandeis friends/classmates to visit this site via email or sharing on your favorite social network.
-- Click on "Donate" to make a gift in support of Brandeis students.

When making a gift, be sure to note which video inspired your gift in the "Personal Message" box.

You Think You Can Do Better?

It's not too late to enter the Brandeis Alumni Video Challenge.

Work independently or collaborate with old friends and classmates to share your Brandeis story. Tell fellow alumni -- through words, images, humor, music, however you choose -- about your time as a Brandeis student. You can spend 30 minutes or 30 days on your project.

The contest will continue into the spring.

Scholarship Stories

Boston Globe columnist Kevin Cullen told the compelling story of Brandeis scholarship student Taisha Sturdivant '11, who grew up in a gang-infested Boston neighborhood and lost her mother to AIDS at age 15. The column concluded with these words:

"She is 20 years old, going on 40. She's a junior at Brandeis and she's been on the dean's list every semester. She writes poetry and knows a lot about the world. She spent last summer on the Mexican border, working with immigrants. She's going to Ghana in January, for six months, to put into practice some of her ideas on education. ... She's going to finish up at Brandeis next year, go to law school, and then Taisha Sturdivant is going to change the world. ... Believe it."

Nearly four out of every five Brandeis students receive financial aid.
The average aid package is about $25,000 each year.
Brandeis admits the best students -- regardless of their ability to pay.
