This is a test of the power of social networking technology for philanthropy.
Raven-Woods is a 501(c)(3) animal shelter that currently houses more than 200 dogs -- many of them survivors of hurricane Katrina. It's an all volunteer effort, funded out of the pockets of some Louisiana residents. But the Department of Environmental Quality just informed them that they need to install a new $40,000 septic system for handling dog waste, or else they will close the shelter, seize the dogs, and put them to sleep.

This is amazing.:) I am so excited . This means now we just need to keep adopting dogs out to get to the limit and then keep a normal amount of dogs for them to be safe forever:) Will talk to you soon Mr. John
This is great news!! I knew we could do it!! Not that I didn't have some worries along the way but ultimately we did it!! Goes to show that one, two, three, four, etc. people CAN make a difference when we all focus together!
