Teenage Tampa of Alpha Kappa Alpha Scholarship Program exposed me to the importance of our culture and the pursuit of excellence.  Partly because of its incredible impact, I have pursued my passion to liberate others through the power of finding their own voice with my original production, Black Girl Speaks.  Without the influence of such a program, perhaps my own dreams would not have been given such strong wings."

Teenage Tampa of Alpha Kappa Alpha Scholarship Program has an impressive legacy in the community and being part of such a rich tradition was an amazing experience.  Although winning the crown was a blessing, the opportunity to be positively influenced by the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. was even more inspiring and empowering.  Now that I too am an Alpha Kappa Alpha woman and a member of the Gamma Theta Omega Chapter, it brings me so much joy to work with the contestants who are standing where I once stood."
