Respect for the freedom of others. Responsibility for your own. At its essence, being Libertarian is just applying The Golden Rule to government.
The current parties in power are not respectful toward those with which they disagree. They use government's power to force the minority to change their personal and economic choices.
The current parties in power are not acting responsibly. Entrusted with the task of protecting our rights and laws, they have instead spent our money frivolously, overtaxed us, and over-regulated our lives, values, and choices.
This has to stop, but we have to be the ones who stop it. No more reinforcing these governmental "bad habits."
The Libertarian Party is the vision for a free, tolerant, and economically thriving United States of America.
I can think of a lot of bad reasons not to join the LP, but I can't think of any good reasons.
