לביא נולד בחודש מאי 2008 עם מחלת הקאנבן, מחלה גנטית נדירה של המוח. כאשר אובחן, נאמר להוריו שהוא לא יחיה יותר משמונה-עשר חודשים, ושסביר להניח שיחיה אותם כצמח.

Lavi is my friend and he is a wonder!
Lavi was born in May 2008 with Canavan disease, a rare genetic disease of the brain.
Upon his diagnosis, his parents were told that he will not live more than 18 months, and is very likely to be a vegetable.
