How far can you run with your eyes closed?

When someone is running with you, hand in hand, you can get anywhere!

Running allows the visually impaired to feel free, keep fit, become socially and occupationally integrated, while invoking a sense of accomplishment, of being equal.

The "Kesher Ayen" running team was set up in order to allow the blind and visually impaired to practice running seriously, as well take part in races and competitions alongside people who do see.

Our team trains twice a week at the Hadar Yosef Stadium in Tel Aviv with Coach Willem Luyckx, one of Israel's top coaches and a senior lecturer, who has vast experiences coaching top runners with and without disabilities.
Some of our runners are quite impressive – Liav Salomovich has set the Israeli record for 800 m for the blind, and Avi Salomon has met the threshold requirement for the 1500 m run, and has participated in the World Championships for the blind.

Alongside top races, the "Kesher Ayen" team members also take part in numerous popular races, such as the Jerusalem, Tiberius and Tel Aviv marathons, or the Bible-Revival (Tanach-Tashach) race.

The challenge is huge, important, and complex, and requires tremendous giving by all of our devoted volunteers, who receive no material reward whatsoever.

Our aim is to truly give every blind person an equal opportunity, and therefore taking part in this activity is free of charge.
But to keep it up we need your donation!

One training session per blind person costs 180 NIS.
The total cost of the team, including coach fees, equipment, travel, use of the stadium, insurance coverage and more, is 160,900 NIS.

We will be grateful for any amount donated.

All donations are tax exempt under section 46 (NGO no. 580026003).

Please donate and support our special team.
